Easter Sunday attack suspect dies at NHC

A 42-year-old suspect from Kalmunai who was in remand custody over the Easter Sunday attacks, died while undergoing treatment at the National Hospital in Colombo.  

The suspect, a resident of Kalmunai, was admitted to the Prisons Hospital on November 23 last year due to an illness.  


Then he was transferred to the Colombo National Hospital and died while receiving treatment at the Intermediate Coronary Care Unit (ICCU)at the National Hospital.  


Prisons Spokesman Chandana Ekanayake said that the suspect was remanded on 06 April, 2021 over the Easter Sunday attack.
