Eight students injured as Jak tree falls



 

  • Majority of them had received head injuries

 At least eight students were injured when a jak tree hanging over a building of Ekiriyagoda Junior School in Kegalle fell on the building during the gale experienced in the area yesterday afternoon.


 The injured were admitted to the Kegalle General Hospital and several of them were treated at the OPD while others were admitted to a ward for further treatment.   
 Spokesman for the hospital said seven boys and a girl had been injured and that the majority of them had received head injuries while one of them seemed to have sustained a fracture in the shoulder.  


 Kegalle police are conducting further investigations.
