Emergency situation declared at flood hit Yala National Park


  • In light of the situation, access to Yala National Park has been restricted, with the main entrance at Palatupana completely blocked by flooding

An emergency disaster situation has been declared at the Yala National Park following inundation at the points of entry due to the spilling of minor tanks, an official said.  
In light of the situation, access to Yala National Park has been restricted, with the main entrance at Palatupana completely blocked by flooding. Consequently, entry from the main gate has been temporarily suspended until further notice.  

Compounding the severity of the situation, local residents and tourists who were present in the park’s bungalows are being evacuated due to the looming threat of major flooding.   
Authorities are taking precautionary measures to ensure the safety of individuals within the park.
