While stressing that current issues cannot be resolved individually, UNP Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardene said everyone including political leaders should be united to overcome current challenges.  

Addressing the commemoration ceremony of the 70th death anniversary of D.S. Senanayake at the Independence Square on Tuesday (22), he said people are in an extremely difficult situation at present and almost crushed due to the current economic debacle.  

“If we are to overcome these challenges, everyone should work hand in hand including political leaders,” he pointed out  

“This is what exactly late Prime Minister D.S. Senanayake showed in his political journey where he led the country with the support of everyone,” he added.  

Thus, Wijewardene reiterated that everyone should be united to find solutions to current issues.
