• Two separate cases against them will be taken up on August 27
• AG has filed 864 indictments  against the two accused

Former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando and former IGP Pujith Jayasundara were yesterday ordered to be released on previous bail conditions by Colombo High Court Trial-at-Bar. 

Two former high ranking public officials were summoned before the Trial-at-Bar bench comprising High Court Judges Namal Balalle, Adithya Patabendi and Mohomed Irshadeen in connection with their criminal negligence and failure to prevent Easter Sunday Terrorist attacks.

Deputy Solicitor General Dileepa Pieris appearing for the Attorney General informed the court that the charges against the accused will be re-examined and a specific indictment will be filed on the next calling date.
Defence Counsel who appeared on behalf of the accused informed the court that they are expecting to raise objections against the indictments.
