• Transportation along Kandy Mahiyangana Road was said to have come to a standstill as a result of a fallen tree

At least one person was killed and two others injured when a tree had fallen on to a vegetable shop in Warapitiya in the Kandy District, police said.   

This is the second tree that has fallen in the Kandy District yesterday as another fell on top of a vehicle along the Kandy Mahiyangana Road. Three were injured in this tragedy according to police.   

Transportation along Kandy Mahiyangana Road was said to have come to a standstill as a result.
