• Says he suspected her of having an affair

An individual tortured his four year old son and E-mailed videos of the scene to his wife employed abroad to compel her to return, was produced before the Welimada Actg. Magistrate and remanded till June 25   

 The suspect Muniyandi Jayakanth (26) was a resident of Gampana Estate in Uva Paranagama.   

Police told court that the suspect’s wife Parvathi was employed in Saudi Arabia leaving the four year old son to the care of her husband. However, he suspected her of having an affair with another individual as she failed to answer his phone calls and had tortured his son and E-mailed the scenes to her.  

Police said she had released the photos on Internet drawing the attention of the public and the police.   

OIC Uva Paranagama Police CI Kapila Gallage said the child was admitted to Welimada Base Hospital for medical examination and treatment.
