Former principal of a leading school in Katugastota questioned over forged documents

The former Principal of a leading school in Katugastota who called over at the Kandy Crime Investigation Unit to make a statement on the alleged admission of students on forged documents was caught attempting to record her statement on her mobile phone.  

The police had noticed her attempting to record her statement and seized the mobile phone and referred it to the Police Information Technology Division. The mobile phone was to be produced in court with the report of the Police Information Technology Division. Police said the former Principal who called over at the Crime Investigation Unit with a lawyer had attempted to record her statement on the phone which she had in her hand bag and that it was seized with the help of a WPC.  The police had questioned her for nine hours on Saturday (23) and she had been informed to call over at the police yesterday for further questioning.  
Acting OIC Kandy Police CI Thilak Samaranayake is conducting further investigations.
