The Ayurvedic authorities have run short of items such as ginger and coriander needed for the manufacture of Ayurvedic medicines to be delivered to the doorsteps of people fallen sick with COVID-19, a minister said.
State Minister of Indigenous Medicine Promotion, Rural and Ayurvedic Hospitals Development and Community Health Sisira Jayakody told Daily Mirror the Cabinet approval was to be sought to receive money to make purchases of them.
He said the government decided to hand over packs of Ayurvedic medicines to the families with members down with COVID-19.
It includes Ayurvedic medicines such as Suvadharani to such people.
“We need to purchase raw materials for the production of these items. There is a shortfall in supply of items such as coriander and ginger for the production of them. We need to get the Cabinet approval. Once that is done, we will venture out for manufacturing,” he said.
