• Supply of petrol at the five stations has been suspended

Several filling stations in Kandy and Gampola are in a dilemma due to the filling of diesel into their petrol storage tanks.

A field officer of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation in the area said diesel had been pumped into the storage tanks at Gampola, Getambe, Gannoruwa, Mahaiyawa and Tennekumbura and that the supply of petrol at the five filling stations has been suspended.

He said the several government institutions and the police that depended on these filling stations for their supply of fuel have been facing hardship.
