• Says the report that Ratnayake had joined Mawbima Janatha Party was false

The report which said the former Army Commander had left Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) is false, an official statement from the party said. 

In a statement signed by Sujeewa Senasinghe who has been appointed as campaign manager, said the report that Ratnayake had joined Mawbima Janatha Party was false.
“The photograph circulated in social media taken with businessman Dilith Jayaweera is an old photograph,” he said.

Meanwhile, it was reported that some MPs from the SJB has called for a working committee meeting to discuss the crisis that had hit the party following the appointment of General Ratnayake as a senior advisor by party leader Sajith Premadasa.
