• In response to the #GoHomeGota campaign on social media, a few politicians backing the govt have launched #WeAreWithGota social media campaign

Days after several individuals on social media launched a campaign #GoHomeGota, calling President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to step down, the government backing politicians and individuals also launched a campaign to back the President with #WeAreWithGota.

“We are facing the greatest economic crisis this world has seen. #lka is now feeling its effects. We have to come together. Together we ended the war. Together we got vaccinated & fought #COVID19SL.  
Now we stand together & fight this economic crisis together. #WeAreWithGota,” said Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella in a twitter message.  

Meanwhile, Additional Director General of the Government Information Department Milinda Rajapaksa  
Tweeted that President Gotabaya Rajapaksa can resolve the current economic crisis of Sri Lanka.  
“We battle the most serious economic crisis ever faced, which the whole world is undergoing. The queues are not only limited to Sri Lanka. The raging cost of living is not only in Sri Lanka. The global crisis is now affecting us,” he tweeted.  

He also stated that “Together we ended the war. Together we got vaccinated & fought Covid back.  
Now we take a stand together & fight this economic crisis together.”
