Gotagogama struggle in front of the Galle town was shifted to the Galle ramparts on Thursday evening when the police and the security forces removed a group of individuals that staged a protest on the ramparts against the government.

They said the police and the security forces illegally removed the protestors and violated the fundamental rights of the people. The lawyers in Galle who condemned the action taken by the police and the army had lodged a complaint with the police and requested the arrest of the commanding officer of the army responsible for it.   Meanwhile, Gotagogama struggle on the Rampart was a focal point of the photo journalists covering the Sri Lanka vs. Australia test match now being played in the Galle International Stadium.
