Addressing the weekly media briefing, Dissanayake said that 91.7 percent of the development of the country was run by the entrepreneurs.
“The country has only two per cent companies which have more than 100 employees. We need to bring at least 15 medium-scale investors into the country. Therefore, we need to convert the Port City area to an attractive place which will help the local and foreign businessman,” the Minister said.
The Port City Commission members who were appointed by the President yesterday should take action to create an environment for local and foreign investors to get their work done in one location within a day or two, Minister Dissanayake said. “We should bring our country up in the ‘Ease of Doing Business Index’ which is now at 99th position, to get more attraction from the international investors,” he said.
“As soon as we control the pandemic situation in the country, the Government will take a forward leap to start develop the country’s economy through this CPCP.
