Group of SJBers to join Ranil when polls draw closer; Harrison

A group of Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MPs will join incumbent president Ranil Wickremesinghe when elections draws closer, Former MP P. Harrison said yesterday.
Those who crossover will include an MP from Colombo District, an MP from Gampaha and one from Kegalle District,” Harrison told Daily Mirror.
“These MPs are frustrated with the SJB leadership,” he added.

The Minister of Labour Manusha Nanayakara also confirmed this situation recently/

However MP Nalin Bandara Jayamaha who responded to a question raised by a journalist at a press conference refuted the claim. “UNP has been claiming that MPs from SJB will crossover to its fold. No one would join a party which is like an empty pocket,” he said.

“I don’t know whether some of our people are trying to hoodwink the UNP Leader,” he added.

Meanwhile MP Jayamaha was critical about a recent remark made by MP Sarath Fonseka that there are rogues in the SJB. “If the Field Marshal made such a remark then it means that he had accepted that he himself is a rogue,” MP Jayamaha said.

It is also reported that Fonseka had spoken high about National People’s Power (NPP) as he had remarked that nobody was corrupt people in that party.

Asked whether NPP would become the main opposition if SJB emerge victorious in future elections, MP Jayamaha said the votes which other parties get will be divided among NPP, UNP
and SLPP.
