The Health authorities yesterday pointed out the importance of getting the third shot of COVID-19 vaccine as it strengthens one’s immunity.  Addressing a news briefing, Deputy Director General of Health Services Dr. Hemantha Herath said they expect every eligible person to get their booster dose.  “Basically, it gives full protection to every recipient while it also helps to prevent the virus from spreading to a certain extent,” he underlined.   

Moreover, Dr. Herath said they cannot give a hundred percent assurance that Omicron does not spread in the country despite remedial measures.
