Amid inclement weather in the country, the Health Ministry has directed all provincial health directors to remain alert and make necessary directives to ensure the safety of people and the smooth function of the hospitals.  

Health Ministry Secretary Dr Palitha Mahipala said health officials have been instructed to swiftly attend to the need of the people in light of the current situation.  

“Due to the flooding, all arrangements have also been made to airlift patients in critical conditions for further treatment,” he said.  

He also advised the general public not to visit places which have been affected by the bad weather conditions.
