Heavy influx of local tourists in Nuwara Eliya



 

  • Most pilgrims to Sri Padasthana had arrived through Hatton route

 Heavy influx of pilgrims and local tourists were experienced in Sri Padasthana and Nuwara Eliya during the weekend holidays with the drawn of the New Year.  

Thousands of pilgrims attended religious observances at the Saman Devala in Nallathanniya as well. Most of the pilgrims to Sri Padasthana had arrived through Hatton route.   


Meanwhile, the local tourists from every nook and corner of the country who visited Nuwara Eliya had been staying in tourist hotels and lodges since December 31. They were enjoying in several areas in Nuwara Eliya and its environs including Gregory Lake.   


 However, it was a matter of concern that most of the local tourists ignored the health guidelines and precautions against COVID-19.
