Inclement weather experienced at present in the Ratnapura district has endangered five divisions with floods and earthslips.

The District Disaster Management Centre (DMC) has warned the people to be cautious of earth slips and floods affecting Ratnapura, Kuruvita, Eheliyagoda, Kalawana and Nivithigala divisions. Meanwhile, the water level in Kaluganga has risen above the flood level of 5.2metres while several other rivers including Kuruganga and Kukuleganga were rising fast.
