The showery weather condition is expected to continue further due to the wave-type atmospheric disturbance, the Meteorology Department said.  

The Department said showers will occur at times in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern and Uva Provinces.  

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in other areas of the island after 1 pm while heavy showers exceeding 100 mm are expected at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, North-Western and Northern Provinces.  

The public is advised to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning.
