The husband of the administrative officer of the Polonnaruwa, Lankapura Divisional Secretariat had been arrested on suspicion of her murder.

The administrative officer was killed by an attack with a sharp weapon at her house yesterday.

Earlier, the husband of the deceased woman told the police that he saw a person in the room who attacked his wife, but could not recognize him due to the darkness.

According to the police, the suspect confessed to the police that he killed his wife following an argument over him drinking alcohol and a debt matter.

The Lankapura Police are investigating.
