Some employees tested Covid positive

The Department for Registration of Persons will be closed from August 16 as some employees have tested positive for COVID-19 while others have become first contacts, a statement from it said. 

Both Head Office and the provincial offices will be closed from the stipulated date, a communiqué issued by the Department. 

However, those applicants who have already dispatched applications will receive their national identity cards by post as soon as possible. 

Those who want their national identity cards for essential purposes and others who want their passports urgently are requested to dial the head office on 0115226126/ 015226100, Southern Province office on 0912228348, North Western Province office on 0372224337, Eastern Province office on 0652229449 and the Northern Province Office on 0242227201
