An accused who pleaded guilty of cheating a young woman by misusing social media, obtaining her nude photos and publishing them in the media was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment suspended for five years by the Gampaha Magistrate Manjula Karunarathne.

The accused W .G. Thaksila Umesh Karunaratne was ordered to pay Rs. 100, 000 as compensation to the aggrieved party.

Gampaha District Computer Crime Investigation Division had conducted investigations and filed action against him.
