India agrees to Increase fuel credit line from US $500 Mn to US$ 750 Mn It is now in process



  • The previously extended US $ 500 million is now in use for the import of diesel from the Indian Oil Company

India has agreed to Sri Lanka ‘s request to increase the US $ 500 million credit facility for fuel purchases to US $ 750 million and it is now in process for finalisation, Daily Mirror learns .  

The request has been made by Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa when he met with Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar in Colombo on Monday .  
The previously extended US $ 500 million is now in use for the import of diesel from the Indian Oil Company.   


Another two consignments of diesel - 40,000 tonnes each - are expected to be delivered to Sri Lanka on April 5 and 14.
