India donates anti-rabies vaccines to Sri Lanka



  • Indian assistance amounts to  US $ 3.5 billion in 2022

India has donated 25,000 doses of anti-rabies vaccine valued Rs.30 million as part of humanitarian assistance for Sri Lanka to get over the current crisis situation, Daily Mirror learns.   


 The government had sought India’s support to deal with the shortage of anti-rabies vaccines in Sri Lanka. The stock weighs 400 kilos.  

The consignment was a part of a larger consignment of 14.7 tonnes of rice, 250 tonnes of milk powder and 38 tonnes of medical supplies which came from Tamil Nadu, India recently.  


 So far, India’s  financial, economic and humanitarian assistance to Sri Lanka in 2022 stands at around US $ 3.5 billion.
