An individual who sexually harassed a ten-year-old girl had been assaulted to death by her father.  The victim Wickremarachchige Rohana Wickrema (48) was a resident of Navitigala in Matugama of the Kalutara district. 

He had visited a house and found two little girls and a boy alone in it. He had entered the house saying that he would be waiting there to meet the girls’ father. He had then asked the girl and the little boy to buy some  arecanut from a nearby shop. In the meantime, he had abused the girl. 

The father of the girl who returned a little while later lost his temper after hearing the incident, assaulted the visitor with a club, causing him serious injuries. He died on admission to Nagoda General Hospital in Kalutara.
The suspect was taken into custody by Matugama Police HQI Matugama Police CI Parakrama Udawatta is conducting further investigations.
