An individual was shot dead last morning at Moragalla in Aluthgama by an unidentified gunman. The victim identified as Gayan was a resident of Paranakade in Beruwala and a trader by profession.

He was collecting king coconuts (Thambili) in his mini-lorry when a gunman waylaid and shot him at Maradana Road in Moragalla.

Police said he had been shot point-blank in his head with a pistol.
Aluthgama Police are conducting further investigations to arrest the suspect.
