The police said yesterday that disciplinary action have been recommended against the OIC of the Imaduwa Interchange on the Southern Expressway (E-01) who was seen on a social media video influencing the release of a drunk driver.  

Police said the incident took place on June 4, 2021 when a police constable on duty at the Imaduwa Interchange stopped and inspected a car.  

Police said an Assistant Superintendent of Police under the supervision of the Director of the Expressway Tourism Police Division conducted an investigation into the incident.   
It was revealed that the OIC had committed an act of indiscipline and the investigation report has been forwarded to the relevant divisions recommending that disciplinary action to be taken against the OIC.
