Inter Provincial travel restrictions to be lifted on Oct.31



Booster dose for frontline workers after Nov. 1

The inter provincial travel restrictions which are currently in place will be lifted at 4 a.m of October 31, General Shavendra Silva said.  


The travel restrictions between provinces were imposed a few months ago to contain the spread of Covid-19. General Silva said the decision to lift the restrictions was taken considering the current situation.  


Meanwhile, the Commander said that Pfizer vaccines will be given to frontline workers engaged in prevention of COVID-19 as a booster dose from November 1.  


He told Daily Mirror that these decisions were taken at the meeting of the Presidential Task Force Committee of Covid-19  held yesterday.

Accordingly, the booster dose will be given to frontline workers of the health, military, police, tourism and other sectors who are fighting against Covid-19, he said.  The Commander said the train services will also be commenced within the provinces after October 25.
