A delegation of 65 leading Buddhist monks and several lay disciples attending the International Sangha Forum-2023 left for India yesterday.

A representative of the Buddhist Brotherhood Foundation organizing the conference told the media at the Bandaranaike International Airport that the object of the conference is to eliminate the differences among the Buddhist traditions and to form a unitary Buddhist world. He said it would be the largest International Buddhist conference ever held in the world.
The conference will be held for five days from December 20 to 24 at Bodh Gaya sacred city with the participation of about 1000 Buddhist monks from Sri Lanka, China, India, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand.
