• One cannot trust the SJB as well

The Frontline Socialist Party (FSP) which is at the forefront of spearheading the current protest wave against the government yesterday called for the setting up of Jana Sabhas and National People’s Council after abolishing the present system of governance. 

“We don’t want the executive presidency anymore. We don’t want interim governments either. What we want is Jana Sabhas and National People’s Council, FSP Central Committee member Pubudu Jagoda told a press conference yesterday. 

“The present President and the government should be removed from office and so is the Presidential system. One cannot trust the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) as well. People such as Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa will also enjoy the executive presidency. He might even go to the extent of setting up an executive premiership. The SJB earlier said they would not become a part of an interim.governmet. However, they are now talking of a multi-party interim government,” Jagoda said.
