Japan, SL signs MoU to expedite de-mining

A Memorandum of Understanding to provide monetary aid to accelerate the de-mining process in the North was signed between Japan and Sri Lanka on Saturday (12).  
The Japanese Ambassador in Sri Lanka Mizukoshi Hideaki signed the MOU during his visit to Jaffna   


The Japanese government would provide monetary assistance to the Sri Lankan government for a period of one year to proceed with the de-mining programme.   
Ambassador Hideaki inspected the ongoing activities in the Kilali lagoon and the surrounding area implemented with Japanese aid.   


Kilinochchi District Secretary Rupawathi Kedishwaran and several senior officials of the Japanese Embassy were also present at the occasion.
