PCR tests of sixteen people including the Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers’ Union, Joseph Stalin who are under quarantine at a centre in Mullaitivu for staging a protest, has come in negative for COVID-19.
Following the results, the group staged a protest on Wednesday at their quarantine centre condemning the government’s repressive measures at a time when the test reports had come in negative.
“We are detained here for the 6th day and the PCR test results of all 16 of us including myself have come in negative. The police forcibly brought us here from Colombo. We ask the government why they are still keeping us here when the test results are negative,” Stalin said.
