Minister of Justice Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe yesterday proposed the immediate setting up of a committee comprising of all parties to work with the government on economic and political reforms.  
“I propose  a committee comprising of all political parties representing the House within a day. 

“I propose  a committee comprising of all political parties representing the House within a day. This committee can work with the government on a reform programme tomorrow itself,” the Minister said.  
Earlier the Minister said he had proposed the setting up of a select committee to compile a new constitution. “I propose setting up of this select committee as soon as Parliament enacts the 22nd Amendment to the constitution,” he said.  

He said the proposed 22nd Amendment comprises reforms which are practical at this moment.
