Former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, currently held in remand custody in connection with the alleged import of substandard Immunoglobulin injections, has sought bail from the Colombo High Court.

Filing a bail application through a lawyer, the former Health Minister is requesting Colombo High Court that he be released on whatever bail conditions the court deems fit.

In his application, Keheliya Rambukwella alleged that the Maligakanda Magistrate on a number of occasions refused to grant bail and made remand orders without reasonable grounds.

This bail application is to be taken up for hearing on March 18.

The Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court on Thursday (14) remanded Keheliya and ten others till March 28 in connection with this incident.
