Leopard carcass recovered from tea estate

By Shantha Chandrasiri and Ranjith Rajapakse

The carcass of a hill country leopard was recovered  yesterday from a tea estate in the Hatton Police area. It was a well-grown animal, about three feet in length, and it had an infected wound  on its hind leg.  A group of wildlife conservators from Nallathanniya are  conducting further investigations to find out how it was injured. They  believe that it would have been injured in a scuffle with another  leopard.
