By Yohan Perera

The low-level atmospheric disturbance still persists to the South-east of Sri Lanka, bringing showers and thundershowers in some parts of the country in the coming days.

Showers or thundershowers are expected at times in Northern, North Central, Eastern, Central and Uva Provinces and in the Hambantota District. Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm may occur at some places in Eastern and Uva Provinces and in Hambantota, Polonnaruwa and Matale Districts.

Showers are also expected in Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces and in Galle and Matara Districts. Heavy showers about 100 mm may occur at some places in Ratnapura, Kalutara, Galle and Matara Districts.  People are requested to take adequate precautions to minimise damages caused by localised strong winds.
