Lunch packet, plain tea price to go down from last night: Canteen owners

By Chaturanga Samarawickrama

All Island Canteen Owners’ Association (AICOA) has decided to reduce the price of a packet of lunch and a cup of plain tea from last night.

AICOA Chief Asela Sampath told the Daily Mirror that the decision was taken due to price reduction of LITRO gas and the prices of certain food stuffs.

The profit gained after reducing the price of essential items should be given to the consumers as they are in a very critical situation.

Accordingly, the price of a packet of lunch will be reduced by 10% and a cup of plain tea will be sold at Rs.30.
The price reduction of lunch packets will apply only for the price range above Rs.200. There will be no price reduction on lunch packets sold at the canteens.
