• The victim, a resident of Eravur, had fallen from an apartment building at S. Mahindahimi Mawatha in Maradana

A 30-year old man who was attempting to run away from the security guard when he tried to enter a women’s hostel, died after having fallen from a building in Maradana, Police said.  

The police launched investigations on a complaint received by the Maradana Police that the victim, a resident of Eravur had fallen from an apartment building at S. Mahindahimi Mawatha in Maradana on Tuesday morning.  
Police said there was a women’s hostel in the apartment building and it was revealed that a security guard had seen the man trying to enter the hostel. Subsequently, he had fallen from the building while trying to run away from the security guard.  

The body was taken to the Colombo National Hospital Police morgue.
