When the suspect was produced in court yesterday, Welisara Magistrate Thusitha Dhammika Uduwavidana ordered the suspect who had been in hiding for 11 days after the incident to be remanded.

Police officers who submitted a report showing the progress of the investigations related to the incident, stated that on January 4th,the suspect had attacked a 14-year-old child with a sword due to a dispute between two parties,  and completely severed a finger on the child’s left hand.

After the child was released from the hospital, the suspect, who did not report to the police until the 13th, surrendered to the police and was subsequently arrested.
