An individual whose hand severed at the wrist from the arm when run over by a train had walked alone to Kandy National Hospital. He said he was walking along the railway line when he fell down and his hand was severed by the passing train. He said, although he searched for the severed hand, he could not find it in the dark.

The injured S.L.M. Rizwan (44) is a resident of Dangolla in Kandy. The police on information visited the scene and found the hand which they handed over to the hospital mortuary.  

The victim is under treatment after an urgent surgery.
