A 55-year-old Registrar of Marriages was arrested by Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) at Oluvil for providing accommodation to Zahran Hashim and others before the Easter Sunday attack.  Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said the suspect was Ahamadu Lebbe Subaddheen.

Investigations revealed that an incident had taken place in 2017 in Kattankudy involving Zahran Hashim, his brother Rilvan, two moulavis and another person.  Accordingly, Zahran had assaulted a group of men who expressed their views against Zahran’s ideology and was then missing for a certain period of time.  It was revealed that the marriage registrar had provided accommodation to Zahran and others during that period.  However, Zahran, his brother Rilvan and others were killed in the Easter Sunday attacks.  The spokesman said the arrested suspect would be detained under the Prevention of Terrorism Act.
