The USA has donated medical equipment worth $ 12 million with the intervention of Sri Lankan Embassy in Washington DC , The President’s office said yesterday. The donations have been provided by three leading humanitarian agencies in USA. The stock of medicine which is the last part of the assistance was handed over to Sri Lanka yesterday October 2nd 2022.   

 Sri Lankan Ambassador in Washington DC Mahinda Samarasinghe said he will continuously work with US based humanitarian agencies to get assistance for  vulnerable groups in Sri Lanka.    Samarasinghe thanked Heart to Heart International, Hope Worldwide and Americares for their assistance to Sri Lanka.  Heart to Heart International has donated medicine worth $.9.131 million, in July this year, Americares has provided assistance worth $.773,000 . Hope to Worldwide is expected to send in assistance worth dollars 1.74 million.
