Education Minister Susil Premajayantha said that a sum of Rs. 16 million has been allocated to facilitate the provision of school lunches for students in Grades 1 to 5, and measures will be implemented to ensure that all children in these primary grades receive lunch starting in March this year.  

Accordingly, the amount allocated per day is Rs.110.00

The Minister further said that all school textbooks required for 2024 have been printed, and arrangements have been made to provide the textbooks and uniforms to the schoolchildren immediately after the end of the third term.
