Minister Amaraweera’s elder brother’s son gets bail over Yala incident

Wild life Minister Mahinda Amaraweera’s elder brother’s son has been arrested and released on bail in connection with entering the Yala National Park and driving vehicles in an unruly manner.

 He was arrested yesterday and released on bail of two personal sureties of Rs.500,000.


Earlier, nine suspects were arrested over the incident and were granted bail by the Tissamaharama Magistrate’s Court. Earlier, while refuting allegations regarding the involvement of his son in the Yala National Park incident, Minister Amaraweera said that he would step down from politics if there is sufficient evidence to prove that his son travelled even beyond Galle on the date of the incident.
