Minister Gamini Lokuge’s driver hacked to death

The driver of Energy Minister Gamini Lokuge has been hacked to death at his residence in Gamwanawatta, Mavittara in Kesbewa last night, Police said.

They said a group of men had assaulted the driver following a personal dispute and he had died on admission to the Piliyandala Hospital. Police launched investigations following information received to the police emergency hotline 119. The victim was identified as a 41-year-old resident of Gamwanawatta, Mavittara in Piliyandala. Police said the driver was hacked to death following an argument with a motorcyclist who was riding a motorcycle several times, making a loud noise in front of his house. The Kesbewa Police have commenced investigations to arrest the suspects.
