• He said no final decision has been made on his resignation from Parliament

Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Mujibur Rahuman yesterday said no final decision has been made on his resignation from Parliament to contest as the SJB Mayoral candidate for Colombo Municipal Council (CMC).   

“It was MP Nalin Bandara Jayamaha who came out with this information at the SJB Bala Mandala meeting at the Colombo Central constituency recently, but no final decision has been made on the matter,” Mr. Rahuman told Daily Mirror.  

Reports said that Mr. Rahuman is to resign from his seat shortly to contest for the local government election.  

“However if any SJB MP from Colombo District resigns from Parliament to contest for the local government election, it will be A. H. M. Fowzie who will fill the vacancy, as he is next in the list,” Rahuman added. 

•  If any SJB MP from Colombo District resigns from Parliament to contest  for LG election, Mr. A. H. M. Fowzie will  fill the vacancy
