Pledges made by National People’s Power (NPP) if implemented,  will reduce annual state revenue by Rs 200 billion, President Ranil  Wickremesinghe said yesterday.
Speaking during a rally in Mawanella, Mr. Wickremesinghe  said the tax reductions pledged by the NPP manifesto will result in a  fall of the Sri Lankan economy.
“The country is travelling across a suspension bridge.  However, NPP if elected will cut down the bridge. The county’s economy  will fall in such an eventuality,” he said.    “I also read the NPP manifesto. It took me three days to  read it. It will take you three months to finish reading it. Don’t  bother to read it but use your vote intelligently,” he told the people  at the meeting.

Also, he announced that his manifesto named ‘Puluwan Sri Lanka’ will be launched on Thursday, August 29, 2024.
