• Navy personnel were giving chase to seize a suspicious trawler when they met with the accident

A naval rating had disappeared and two others received injuries in a collision of two naval craft patrolling the sea off Karainagar on Sunday night (10). The Police and the Navy divers were searching for the disappeared naval rating yesterday.   

A team of Navy personnel were giving chase to seize a suspicious trawler in the sea about seven miles off Karainagar jetty when they met with an accident.   

The injured naval ratings were admitted to the Kayts Base Hospital and one of them transferred to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital for further treatment.
