New company to be formed for domestic gas manufacturing



  • Sri Lanka currently produces only five percent of its LP gas requirement for domestic use

The Cabinet has decided to form a company affiliated to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation to produces LP ( Liquefied Petroleum) gas.  

The Cabinet assigned Energy Minister Udaya Gammanpila for the task . Sri Lanka currently produce only five percent of its LP gas requirement for domestic use.  


The Energy Ministry has planned an oil refinery facility as the largest investment in Sri Lanka, it is said.
